The Christian blogosphere is exploding, and as it does it is transforming the way Christians share ideas and collaborate together. I think the internet is the greatest tool the Church has ever had. The Christian blogosphere is populated by plenty of excellent bloggers. In amongst all the good and great blogs, there are pearls. A ‘pearl’ blog is a blog which is more than ‘good’ or ‘great’. They seem to stand apart from the crowd, for various reasons. I found my first feature blog quite by accident.
Suddenly Christian is written by John Shore. When I say ‘written’, therein lies the clue to why I think it’s a pearler. John Shore is a writer, and this comes out in his posts. Aside from the interesting books he has written, his blog posts have a quality about them which sets them apart from other blogs which either ‘discuss’ issues or provide information, or ‘cut and paste’ from other blogs.
Reading John’s posts gives you the feel of something that has been crafted. He has a good turn of phrase and has the necessary sense of self deprecating humour that Australians especially warm to. I won’t cut and paste myself, I’ll simply selflessly provide you with the link that will take you away from this blog. All I ask is that you come back when you’re done reading his interesting stories – especially the one about getting Bible bashed on his way out of a Zen meditation session.
Suddenly Christian is therefore Pearl #1, with many more interesting reads to follow in the series to come.

Thank you very much for these very kind words about my awesome — I’m sorry, my HUMBLE — blog.
Ark, ark.
Seriously, though: This is great. Thanks again.
