My second pearler brings us closer to the antipodes, in other words: God’s country. This blog is a pearl because the author does something which is truly different and remarkable.
Mark Brown, umm that’s ‘Rev’ to you please, is author of Brown Blog. This blog offers a treasure trove of material on a wider ange of subjects. Such is the treasure trove it will take you some considerable time to explore it all. Whilst exploring you are exposed to a plethora of links and soon you find yourself deep in a hyper-linked world of which is enriching and resource rich.
However, the ‘pearl’ status is awarded on the basis of the two distinct differences that this blog has. Firstly, Mark being the author of an already successful blog, provides plenty of help for other bloggers to help them maximise the effectiveness of their projects. This is commendable.
The second reason this blog is unique is because Mark is a Second Life missionary. He has entered the virtual world of Second Life and hosts worship services, Bible studies etc therein. I’m grateful for Mark’s insights because it is a world I have not inhabited and I have little time or inclination to in the future. I’ve always thought gamers need a life and a tan, but someone needs to reach them right?
I’ll let you roam around his extensive library of postings, links and resources. Good work Mark, consider yourself a pearl of the Christian blogosphere!

Mark Brown deserves your highlighting;
he is prepared to think and act outside the box;
he seeks the opinions of others,
collates them,
and enriches this with his own perspective.

this really doesn’t have anything to do with the post, but i just wanted you to know i added a comment after your “bad news of the gospel” comment over at challies.com. a guy named chris said, “try this, gordon” and proceeded to basically say, “don’t ask questions.”
so i added this, WHICH WAS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY DELETED:
——————-
passerby #1: “but chris(tian), why should i trust you and go to the eastern exit?”
chris(tian): “the guy there told me it’s the only way out!”
passerby #2: “ok, then why should we trust him?”
chris(tian): “silly, can’t you READ? we KNOW we can trust him because it says here that HE’s the one that started the FIRE! he’s also the one that put us in this burning building! so stop asking so many questions and RUN!”
——————
it’d be a lot more fun pointing out their stupidity if they didn’t keep doing it for us…

I agree. I had heard about Second Life about a year ago. I finally logged in a couple of months after that. The first thing I did when I got connected with Second Life was to see what “groups” were available. I looked up Episcopal (or was it Anglican?), and found Epiphany Island, where Mark’s church is (it’s impressive and I’m sure it took MANY hours to program it).
