I am always drawn to worship leaders who show vulnerability, rather than total assuredness. Most worship leaders who I know take the role very seriously and feel a deep sense of burden as they stare at a blank piece of paper before beginning to craft the service.
A polished performer never impacts me. I may be impressed by a polished, slick worship leader with all the right segways and guitar licks, but never moved. A vulnerable worship leader impacts me, and I am drawn to join them on a journey of emptying myself before my Creator, and bringing nothing of my own confidence into a corporate worship experience.
I don’t mind worship leaders who in their obvious passion and vulnerability, make mistakes. I’d rather that than a polished performer who can smooth it up like the best real estate salespeople on the planet.
Vulnerable means genuine, and genuine means I’m listening, I’m participating.

Agreed.
I heard of a very famous worship leader saying that when leading worship he always wore socks as a means of triggering a recurring reminder in his team “behind” him to always be “chilled out” - taking God, but not themselves seriously.
I categorically deny that I wear socks when I lead worship!
Well, I said “Famous” worship leader, not “INfamous”
