I blog from Changi, Singapore on my way to Africa. Back to that continent filled with contrasts. Where you will find people at their best, intermingled with people at their worst. This journey marks the end of an era for me. This week I stepped down from Defence Force Chaplaincy after a decade in both the Navy & Army respectively.
Time to concentrate on other things, including study, and investing more heavily in the missional ventures we have launched through our church. In particular, the runners and walkers club which has attracted so many people, but they still need to be attracted to Jesus!
During the next 3 weeks my access to the Web will be limited. During my 3 week bloggin haitus I will however be storing up materail to keep me going for the rest of the year! My journey takes me to South Africa for a week, starting with the epic Comrades Marathon. Thereafter a whirlwind tour through various cities to see family, and then back to Jahannesburg to meet 8 others from my church to venture into Zimbabwe.
Our timing couldn’t be worse, arriving 6 days before the run-off election. But as far as bringing encouragement it couldn’t be better!
Please pray that I will survive the mayhem that is South Africa, so that I can see the turmoil that is Zimbabwe, so that I can get home safely and keep this blog humming [the least of the reasons I need to get home!]
